An eye-opening experience

My eyes have been opened to see a glimpse of God's heart through this mission trip. I have a tendency to shrink my view of God down to the size of whatever is troubling me. However, God has used this trip to remind me of who he is - a dad with a broken heart who desperately wants all of his children to know him personally.

The kids of the 25th of May in Skopje, Macedonia are a beautiful example of why Jesus pointed to children and stated that the kingdom of heaven belonged to such as these. The language barrier between our team and the kids didn't matter. The difference in age and wealth didn't matter. The one thing that did matter was they opened their hearts to receive the love we gave them in Christ's name. I am grateful to have had the opportunity to know them and love them and watch their hearts expand.

I have an exciting update on Dennis, the young man I mentioned in a previous post. Our missionary friends in Macedonia provided him with a Bible just as we promised him. I remember the look on his face as he showed it to me. He was awed that someone had made a promise to provide him with something and actually followed through on it. The next day he came up to me again with a wide grin on his face and said he'd read the first seven chapters of Matthew. Praise God for an answered prayer and may he bless all of you who continue to pray without ceasing.
