All packed up & ready to go
Friends, Family and all of our supporters,First of all, we wish to thank each and everyone of you for your generosity and spirit that has enabled us to not just reach our goal, but to surpass it. In these tougher times, it's a blessing to see the support roll in. We expect to hit 108% of our goal. That means there's more we can do for the kids at the 25th Maj Institution in Skopje. Many of you wished to remain anonymous and we respect that. To all, and you know who you are, we thank you for allowing us to serve.
It looks like we may have a little rain to start our week, but after that it looks like great weather for farming! It looks like perfect weather for fixing our zipline from last year, playing basketball and futbol (soccer). Best of all we expect to have a lot of fun with our cross-cultural import of the phenomenal tailgate game: KanJam!
So first thanks to the KanJam folks in western New York for their donation of 2 games.
Oh, you haven't played KanJam? Well you are missing out.
We expect to have several teams of world-class players by the time we leave!
Check it out: http://www.kanjam.com/OutdoorGame/
We are also indebted to University of Minnesota student Mitch Arnold and his non-profit: Peace is the Goal for their donation of soccer balls and gear for the kids. We're hoping to help Mitch & Peace is the Goal reach their 92nd country, Macedonia!

An added thanks to past Macedonia missionary team member Amanda Hammons for connecting us with Mitch.
Our 9 person team is ready to go and excited for what God has planned for each us. We hope to not just touch hearts in Macedonia but to have our hearts touched by our friends and soon-to-be friends in Skopje. We are truly blessed to have this opportunity to serve.
We have a wonderful, powerful story that may unfold while we are in-country. I will only leave you with a tease (as we call it in the TV business). Stay tuned for a potentially awesome story of life change and how we all continue to strive for a closer relationship with Jesus Christ.
Finally, each of our team members has supplied a meaningful verse of scripture that we used for reflection in our preparation for this journey. Each day in Skopje we'll revisit these verses that we hope will strengthen, inspire or guide us in our work. Stay tuned each day to see these revealed with the hope that our sharing will bring some of the same meaning to you. I'll leave you with our foundational verse:
James 1:27 New International Version (NIV)
27 Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.
One last shout out to our friend and inspiration Elizabeth Burton. You may know her now as: Елизабетче Буртон
She is working hard to become a full-time missionary in Skopje. We hoped she'd be there this time when we arrived but it's not in God's plan at this time. We know she's ready to be there doing great things. We are thinking about her and will miss her quiet, reserved style while we are there...okay you know she is neither quiet or reserved! We'll miss her enthusiasm and spirit! We know she is with us.
If you want to continue to support something worthwhile then please help Elizabeth get funded so she can do wonderful things 365, 24/7 in Macedonia!
